A group project for “ENGL 3115: Visual Rhetoric & Document Design” at ABAC asked me (and two others) to design a fake event and promote it. My contribution to the project was coming up with the event itself and creating a poster for it. The event I pitched was the “Peach Tree Slam Spree,” a poetry slam taking place at the Moultrie-Colquitt County Library. The event was designed to promote local artists by using the local library as an event space to showcase artistic endeavors.
The event was pitched to include the following:
A small stage for artists to deliver poetry readings, literary readings, music, and singing.
A section for the display (and sale) of paintings, drawings, and crafts.
Outdoor tents for locally owned foodservices businesses to sell food and drinks.
An open-to-all traditional Poetry Slam as the closing event of the evening.
